I have two outlook 2003 clients running on exchange 2003, configured to be able to send on behalf of about 10 other users. On one outlook client user A can send perfectly. The messages that are sent on behalf of someone else look like they are from that person when you open the message. In other words, the "Send of behalf" text is gone and only the correct email address is listed. User B however sends a message to one of my external email accounts and it reads, "userB@domain.com on behalf of userxyz@domain.com". Any help would be appreciated.
It's the differance between "Send As" and "Send on Behalf of" You need to make them a delegate, then give the delegate "Send as" permission to avoid the sent on behalf of wording. One common mistake is to grant the permission to a group. Membership of a group is a backlink attribute, so if you add members the permissions are not updated.
