Re: Is this user's exchange mailbox corrupt?
The issue occured when they logged into a PC they normally do not log into
becasue another user was on vacation. Are you saying that it is possible that
outlook rules or attributes might "transfer" to another user from another? I
have seen that happen, for example with power settings for user profiles. A
specific user's power settings would "transfer" to the local PC and the next
user that logged in inheritted those power settings. I had to match the power
settings under each user login and delete the local profile. Having them log
back in fixed that issue. Is this a possbility with Outlook? Please correct
me if I am wrong.

Re: Is this user's exchange mailbox corrupt?
There are a few settings in Outlook that cross profiles, but it's more
likely that the user set up his profile wrong, or didn't change one of the
defaults. Go look at that profile and see if there's something there that
would explain what he's seeing. If your dumpster setting permits, he may be
able to get all those deleted items back.

Re: Is this user's exchange mailbox corrupt?
Hello Ed,
Thanks, I will look at the profile again. I have another question-
since the recover deleted items option is grayed out, can you recover their
deleted items from the Exchange server? If so how?
Another question would be if our deleted items retention policy
permanently deletes the user's deleted items, what is the simplest way to
restore those emails? From what I have read, this can be a time-consuming
task. ANy suggestions are always appreciated!

When you select Restore Deleted Items while the Deleted Items folder is
selected, the button is grayed out? If it's grayed out on other folders,
implement this:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;246153

You're talking about a restore from backup to a recovery server or the
recovery storage group. This should be your bible for such questions:
