Re: Exchanged Cache Mode not working
I had another computer that had a clean install of Office 2007 loaded on it.
I used Outlook 2007 and built the profile and all of that. It defaulted to
Cached Exchange mode and there were messages in the inbox, which was a good
start and some SPAM e-mail was caught right away. But after 3 SPAM came in we
couldn't receive e-mails, I then turned off exchange cached mode and it still
wouldn't recieve e-mails. I am going to install office and outlook 2003 for
the hell of it and give that a go. I'll let you know what happens.

Meaning, the junk e-mail folder?

How long did you wait? What was the status (both in the lower right hand
side / status bar, and when you click on the Outlook icon in the notifcation
bar while holding down the CTRL key)?
How big is the mailbox (total) and how many items in the inbox?

Office 2007 should be fine - just run Microsoft Update & make sure you're
fully up to date on patches.

Re: Exchanged Cache Mode not working
Yes, the spam e-mail folder.
Waited about 20 minutes adn I did send andrecive e-mails from another
account to make sure that e-mail was flowing.
The inbox has just a few items in it at any given time. Sent and deleted are
kept for about 6 months. The total mailbox size is around 700K.
In the right hand corner it says connected and when right click with ctrl it
all looks good.
I'll make srue all updates are installed and then create a new profile to
see how that does. thanks,

No - the "Junk E-mail" folder. There's a difference - if it's called "spam
folder" it isn't the built-in one.

You don't need to do a send/receive. Wwat was the status? "Connected - All
Folders Up to Date" ?

700K? How can that be if you're saving 6mos worth of mail? What do you mean
by "sent and deleted are kept for about 6 mos" ?

Re: Exchanged Cache Mode not working
You're right...Junk E-mail folder. It does say connected and all folders are
up to date. 700 MB not KB.
We have rules set for the sent items and deleted items where it archives
items older than 6 months.
In any case I did get all the updates loaded on the "fresh" machine and that
seems to be working now.
For the heck of it I uninstalled office on the offending computer then did a
re-install of office, created a new profile and all of that but it still
doesn't work on that machine. I'll swap machines. I think the problem
originally occured when Activesync was installed. I also uninstalled that to
no avail. thanks for your suggestions.
