MAPI initialization failure in windows 2008 server.
Hi All,

Is MAPI supported with Windows 2008?
I am not able to run any MAPI viewer tools ( mvsetup.exe and
MfcMapi.EXE ) on windows 2008 server having exchange 2007 setup. Both
are failing during InitializeMAPI call.

Error:
Code: MAPI_E_CALL_FAILED == 0x80004005
Function ::MAPIInitialize(&mapiInit)

Any idea on this? Since its a exchange 2007, I have installed the
ExchangeMapiCdo.EXE (which is having MAPI libraries) available in
net.

Regards,
Shivaraj

That package is for Windows Server 2003. The package for Windows 2008 is
still being created and has not yet been released. See

Re: MAPI initialization failure in windows 2008 server.
MAPI is now supported on windows 2008 also!!

For vista, I think it was never broken/non-working!!! I tested my
product when it was released!!
