Engineering project-based email archive solutions
Hi all,
We are an waste water treatment plant design consulting firm. Project folders are created under Public Folders for staff to store their project emails. At the end of a project, we move and keep all the emails (by means of PST file), files, and CAD drawings together in DVDs. It's a time-consuming manual process. Are there any email/file archive commercial product doing similar kind of work?

Re: Engineering project-based email archive solutions
Check out Enterprise Vault, Zantaz EAS, as well as the inbuilt (and free) Journaling features that Exchange 2000-2007 provides.

Re: Engineering project-based email archive solutions
Hi El,

The simplest way of doing it the Journaling in Exchange Servers. This will archive all mails to a single mailbox, later on you can just put all this in one PST. That too can be done using the tool exmerge, which will convert your server mailbox to a pst.

For Journaling:
You need to do only on thing. Create a new mailbox Store and move all the required users' mailbox to that. Enabling Journaling on the store. It will archive each and every mail coming and going out of the users' mailboxes.

In case you cannot move mailboxes, you need to enable journaling on all the mailbox stores, where your required users are residing. In this case, you will end up in unwanted mails in the archive.

I hope, I was able to address your concern properly. In case you have any further clarifications, you may feel to contact me at any time.

Regards,
