OWA 2003 site doesn't respond
Exchange 2003 Enterprise Version 6.5 Build 7638.2 SP2 in a fully patched
Windows 2000 domain.

The server had Symantec Mail Security v10.1 installed and was removed a few
weeks ago and then TrendMicro Client Server Messaging for SMB v3.0 was
installed. Now when connecting to mail.bdtechnology.org/exchange I get the
Connect dialog but IE responds with ‘action cancelled”. After the first try
IE fails everytime. There’s an event in the Security event log; event id
529 indicating ‘unknown userId or bad password’ but userId and password are
good.

I’m guessing uninstalling and installing the AV software may have stepped on
a port assignment, although the two actions may not be related. Can anyone
point me to a checklist for a healthy Exchange 2003 OWA?

Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Cheers.
