Windows XP VLK Upgrade
I bought a used computer that apparently was loaded with Win Xp (volume
license). It will not validate as an authentic copy of windows and causes an
annoying pop up window to interrupt everything I do.

To remedy this situation I foolishly thought buying an authentic copy of win
xp home addition would be the answer. I put in the new disk and it says that
I cannot upgrade. It sounds like I will have to wipe my computer just to
change the OEM to this one. I would really hate to do that. Someone please
tell me that I can just install this new one without deleting all the files
on my computer and reinstalling. I paid microsoft the money why should I
still be punished?
