Exch 2003 Standard to Enterprise Upgrade Issues
I really need help on this one. I upgraded the exchange server from 2003
standard to the enterprise edition, but apparently it didn't "take." I'm
still getting event ID 1216, saying the store is limited. I removed the
registry key that sets the limit, and now it says it's limited to 18 gig.
Still standard edition behavior.

Is there anywhere out there a guide or instructions on how to do that upgrade?
Thank you.

Re: Exch 2003 Standard to Enterprise Upgrade Issues
here is the correct process for upgrading from MS
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=170280

did you follow this ?

What does ESM say the version of the server is ?

Did you reboot after you removed the registry key ?

Re: Exch 2003 Standard to Enterprise Upgrade Issues
I did the reinstall, not from the CD, I downloaded it from eopen and ran
setup from the setup\i386 folder.

EMS says Version 6.5 (Build 7638.2: Service Pack 2)

Yes, I rebooted after removing the registry key. I have to re-boot every
morning now because the store unmounts overnight due to over the size limit.

Re: Exch 2003 Standard to Enterprise Upgrade Issues
in ESM if you click onto the Servers folder it will display the edition
version on the right hand side pane

check what eventid 1217 is saying in the application log it should say you
have unlimited storage for the databases if you are running enterprise

Re: Exch 2003 Standard to Enterprise Upgrade Issues
OK, never looked at it before, the edition on the server still says standard,
I'm going to have to try the upgrade again, thanks for your help.

Edition, and 2003 Enterprise Edition SP2, which one should I install?

Re: Exch 2003 Standard to Enterprise Upgrade Issues
Installing Enterprise Edition SP2 obviates having to install SP2 afterward
separately.
