Hi! Is it possible to let some of my users use pop3 to dowload e-mails from Exchange 2007 but keep these e-mails in Exchange so that they can be retransferred in case of any problem with client computers. I have already enabled LCR. Can it be helpful? Thanks!
LCR won't help no. The only thing you could do is to 'ask' your users to configure their pop settings to keep a copy of the mail on the server - a big ask. What's the reasoning for POP3 access? Oliver
I have Outlook Anywhere and Outlook Web Access but i cannot understand why it is not working with some internet connections even through dial-ups. It happened before also but then it started working automatically and now it stopped working two days ago. That's why i need to open POP3. Strange Problem. Thanks! Well, more specifically, I think you need to resolve the connectivity problem, and *not* enable POP3 as a band-aid. You can't do what you wish with it. Perhaps the problem is with the remote networks. You can't do much about that. Opening up POP3 access is not the answer, though.... Perhaps if you post more detail as to the RPC over HTTP problems someone can help you. And OWA isn't working either? > > Strange Problem. > > Thanks! > > "Oliver Moazzezi [MVP]" wrote: > >> LCR won't help no. I also have Blackberry Devices connected through BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) which need pop enabled. Don't you think if i disable pop3, my blackberry users will be disconnected? Thanks! If BIS requires POP then leave it enabled. Just discourage regular users from using POP. Or configure your firewall to allow the POP protocol only from BIS servers. -- Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." . BIS does not require POP3 at all. You can point it at your OWA box and it will use that.
