collector mailbox configuration
Hi,
I have SBS 2003 running Exchange server.
How can I configure one of the mailboxes as a mail collector in order to
catch email with wrong addressee?

Thanks

ugh. It will be full of SPAM and probably get so big you wont be able
to open it. Why the need to do this? I would spend my energy ensuring
legitimate mail gets handled correctly, not the stuff sent
incorrectly.

HOW TO: Forward Mail with Unresolved Recipients to a Single Mailbox

If anything, do recipient filtering against AD and drop messages
destined for invalid recpients. A legitimate sender will get a NDR and
will check the address and resend.

Thanks Andy for your response,
In the second article ("Exchange 2003 Recipient Filtering") I didn't
understand, If I will add new user called invalid_address@domain.com
and disable tick box titled 'Filter recipients who are not in the Directory'
all the wrong addressee emails will turned to invalid_address@domain.com?

No, recipient filtering against AD means that any message destined for
an invalid/unknown recipient in your org will be rejected by the SMTP
service on your server and will not be accepted. Much more efficient.
This will not route messages to unknown recpients to a mailbox.

When your server rejects the message with a 550 response, the sending
server will report that error back to the sender so they will know the
recipient doesnt exist.

Many people recommend that when you implement recipient filtering,
that you also implement tarpitting to prevent possible directory
harvesting, but I think that concern is overblown, but here is how to
tarpit as well:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/842851

If you really want to route messages destined for unknown recipients
to a single mailbox, use the KB I linked in my previous post. I would
recommend against it however.

Check out MailBasket from www.turbogeeks.com if you really want a catch-all.
I don't recommend this, as you will be accepting & sorting through a ton of
spam.
