Enable TLS additional help
Hi all,

I just followed http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/10/04/429090.aspx to
set up TLS between another company. The address space I used is the fake one
in the SMTP connector. But, somehow, I can not send emails out. Can anyone
help me out why this could happen?

In the document, it mentioned to create the second SMTP virtual server
instead of the default SMTP server. If I use the default SMTP server to use
TLS encrption, will it block emails coming?

Thank you.

Re: Enable TLS additional help
Yes. I thought before I use the real partner domain name address, I use the
fake one address t.com in the SMTP address space to test. I just do not get
why I can not send emails to yahoo.com anymore after creating SMTP connector?

Did you remove *?

Also have you configured authentication on the SMTP Connector? If so this is
a known bug, reboot the bridgehead/s.

Exchdump gives a good dump of the SMTP connectors, you could always use that
and paste the output here.

Thank you for your help.

Yes. only xyz.com in the address space.

not sure how to configure authentication on the SMTP connector. I just
click outlook security and anonymous access checked and TLS encryption
checked.

If I enable the default SMTP virtual server to have cert and TLS, and
require SSL connection, will some messages fail to deliver?

Thank you.

Hi,

Only if you select 'require secure channel'. However it is best practice to
have seperate SMTP virtual servers for TLS.
