email stuck in INBOX in exchange 2000?
I have this strange issue.

What happened is that I had 50Mb in my email.

I cleared it all out into a PST using Outlook 2007 SP1. I have a 50
PST.

I check the mail server and it shows I have 25Mb on the server. This
is odd.

I load up a fresh profile on a new XP machine using Outlook 2003 SP3.

I open my mailbox and see 25Mb. I clear it out into a 2nd 25Mb PST.

I still see 4Mb stuck in the mail server!

Now multiply this by 100 people!

I may have a user that has 80Mb in their inbox but the server sees
195Mb.

Now a bit of a backgrounder. A sys admin in the past may have deleted
the STM file due to a corruption.

Be that as it may, how do I square things off?

How do I 'sync' the boxes?

eg. in Outlook 2007 I can see my LOCAL DATA SIZE is ZERO.

But my SERVER DATA SIZE is 4.5Mb.

Re: email stuck in INBOX in exchange 2000?
That's 400MB. Not very much, really.

I don't know why you're doing what you're doing or how you have Outlook
configured so I can't comment on why you're seeing what you're seeing.

Re: email stuck in INBOX in exchange 2000?
Explain what you mean by "server sees a 200Mb OST" (and I think you mean MB
unless you're counting in bits, in which case 200Mb is really small!).
Exchange Server doesn't "see" an OST, it's managed by Outlook.
