Just curious about something Senario 2 Exchange 2003 servers Mailboxes on both servers. Server 1 catches fire and I don't have any available hardware. So we make the decision to restore the mailbox stores to Server 2 Question: What is the best way to reconnect the Mailboxes to Active Directory accounts? I had read some articles for Exchange 2000 that said I had to delete the mailbox's from the accounts then I could reconnect them in System manager. I know that Exchange 2003 has made some improvements just wondering if the process had changed. And if I have many users that I want to reconnect do I have to use MBconn.exe to create the Ldif file? Thanks
You would need to rehome the attributes; using either LDIFDE or admodify both will work. Then the users will have to recreate their Outlook profile as their existing ones will not get automatically re- homed. Blog in second link shows how to use both methods to rehome.
