Moving exchange server 2003 sp2 (additional dc, 2003 r2) to new hardware
Hi, we have an exchange 2003 sp2 server running on win 2003 srv r2.
That machine is also running as additional dc.
Now we're planing to move it to an new machine. And we want to configure
this new exchange machine as additional dc.

I've read some document's on ms technet like this:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997176.aspx

But i don't understand an detail in this operation;
Is there a difference to do this operation on the additional domain
controller running exchange 2003, or is this the same like moving from
member server to new member server ?

Note: Excuse me for bad english.

Best Regards,
Mehmet

I would suggest you to refer http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=297289 in
stead of the technet document you found out.
Additionally, deploying and exchange server on a box which is a domain
controller already is not a good practice. Microsoft does not recommend to
have an exchange server installed on the server which is a domain controller
also.

Adding to what Milind quoted, MS does not recommend Exchng box to be
on a DC, however if u come across a situation where Exchn box HAS to
be on a DC - ensure that the DC is converted to a GC to avoid further
complications of services related Exchng not starting up.

Apart from the above concern, you dont have to beat your head about
any other issues.
