i've been reading that cas servers are made highly available via NLB and HT's are made redundant by adding more HT's. that being said, can a NLB clustered CAS also run the HT role? In essence, can the roles live together if I'm planning on using NLB? the idea here would be to minimize the total amount of hardware required.
- Sure - they can be on the same server. - Just make sure you don't NLB port 25 (default Receive Connector) on Hub Transport servers. - The client Recieve Connector (tcp port 587) on the HT server can also be load-balanced using NLB. -- Bharat Suneja Microsoft Corporation blog: exchangepedia.com/blog This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
