Trying to use TLS
I am running Exchange Server 2003. When I enable TLS encryption and go to the
queue, all messages are just sitting there waiting to go. If I highlight one
of the domains, yahoo.com for example, at the bottom of the screen it says
"the remote smtp service does not support tls".

If someone could please help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,
Mark

You cant use TLS unless the remote domain supports it .

Re: Trying to use TLS
Is there a way to specify using TLS when sending to a specific domain?

Re: Trying to use TLS
Thanks for your help, Andy. How does the server know when to use the
connector for TLS and when not to? We are trying to use TLS to send to
srs.gov. Is there a way to specify that domain in the connector?

Thanks again.

Re: Trying to use TLS
I've created the connector and specified the domain to use TLS when sending
to, but I still get the message that the remote smtp service does not support
tls. Will it matter if I am using a smarthost?

Yes, enter that domain in the address space rather than *

You need to contact their mail administrators. You typically do not
send mail to other orgs using TLS unless there is some mutual
agreement.
