Exchange 2003 in Win2008 domain
I recently upgraded my windows 2003 Domain to Windows 2008. Now when I
create a user, it does not create an email account on the Exchange server.
In AD Users and computers, looking at the Exchange Tasks, the mailbox is
created. Looking at my Exchange Server in the Exchaneg System manager, it is
not. I have tried in AD Exchange Tasks, deleting mailbox and then
recreating, delete user and recreate, copy user from another existing user
and nothing seems to work. I do have Exchange patched current. Any help is
appriciated.

It never did. The mailbox isn't created on the server until there's a
need to. The 1st time the owner logs on to the mailbox, or the 1st
time a message arrives for that mailbox, the Information Store will
create the mailbox.

No, that's just the information that describes the mailbox.

That's perfectly normal.

Send an email to that mailbox -- then check the database.

Re: Exchange 2003 in Win2008 domain
Sorry, I should have known that. I checked this morning and it is working
correctly now. What was very odd is that the 20 time that I created the
account before, I never could configure Outlook to see theExchange server
and the user did not show up in the Global Address list. It's working now
and that is all that matters. Thanks for answering the email and keeping me
honest.
