I have one user who cannot receive large attachments. under Message Restrictions her Receiving message size limit is 10240 KB (10 meg) I am trying to send 5 meg files from gmail and hotmail, and get NDR 5.2.3 I did send her a 5 meg file from my exchange account and she was able to receive it. the default limit is 4 meg, but I have plenty of users (including myself) who have limits that override that, and it seems to be working for everyone else. is there someplace else I need to look at that would override the message size limit?
you might look for restrictions on any connector that might be involved... -- Susan Conkey [MVP] "Gary M" wrote in message news:O2L7zfftIHA.552@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... >I have one user who cannot receive large attachments. > > under Message Restrictions her Receiving message size limit is 10240 KB > (10 meg) > > I am trying to send 5 meg files from gmail and hotmail, and get NDR 5.2.3 > > I did send her a 5 meg file from my exchange account and she was able to > receive it. > > the default limit is 4 meg, but I have plenty of users (including myself) > who have limits that override that, and it seems to be working for > everyone else. > > is there someplace else I need to look at that would override the message > size limit? > > > >
Attached files grow when they are sent over the Internet due to the process of encoding them into the email text, whereas no such growth occurs for attachments sent within Exchange. Normally this growth seems to be 30 to 40% which might account for what you're seeing if the attached file is more like 5.8 megs and/or the message itself is pretty big. -Peter "Gary M" wrote in message news:O2L7zfftIHA.552@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > > > >
