Japanese Language character set   
Do emails that are written in Japanese occupy more disk place on an Exchange 
2003 Enterprise Store than those written in Engilsh?

Not unless the written words are longer (for kanji it wouldn't be but 
katakana might)  No matter what the language, it's all unicode.
