As subject, Exchange 2003 SP2 is running on a Windows 2003 SP1 box. I've done a quick Google and couldn't come up with anything specific, so are there any gotcha's or caveats with installing Windows 2003 SP2 and bringing the box up to date with all the latest hotfixes? It's not directly exposed to the internet (except OWA over SSL) so I'm half tempted to take the "if it aint broke" approach depending on the feedback. TIA.

Usenet, You definitely want to patch it to SP2 (if for nothing else - Microsoft Supportability). I've had no issues with patching the same configs. If this was helpful - please indicate that this answered you question! -- Chris S MCSE, MCITP:Messaging, CISSP "Usenet" wrote: > As subject, Exchange 2003 SP2 is running on a Windows 2003 SP1 box. > > I've done a quick Google and couldn't come up with anything specific, so > are there any gotcha's or caveats with installing Windows 2003 SP2 and > bringing the box up to date with all the latest hotfixes? > > It's not directly exposed to the internet (except OWA over SSL) so I'm > half tempted to take the "if it aint broke" approach depending on the > feedback. > > TIA. >

Its even on WU/WSUS that effectively disabled Scalable Networking Pack.

I did this a few months ago when we were still on SP1. I didn't run across any problems at all.
