Move storage groups & databases?
New ex2k7 install into existing Ex2000 org.

I plan to create a storage group for each of my 3 databases. I had planned
on moving the databases to a dedicated drive, and leave the logs in the
original location, but what about the actual storage groups?

Do I need to move them as well?

My current Ex2000 server has the actual databases on a separate drive, but
the trans logs and 'system path location' for the storage group are in their
original location.

Thanks!

Re: Move storage groups & databases?
Hi,

You do not move Storage Groups. They consist of Databases and the
corresponding Logs for the Storage Group.

If you move the databases to a dedicated drive, and the logs for the Storage
Group to another, in essence that is all that is needed.

Storage groups represent the databases, trans logs and the system
file, so those are the only things you have to worry about. The SGs
themselves arent on disk per se.
