One of our users deleted her email (in Outlook) in January which she sent . I tried to find on Exchange server under search by entering the dates from 1-1-08 to 1-30-08 but it only goes back to April 1st not beyond that. Where is the filter or we can adjust the days limit so that we can go back to find an email deleted accidently. How far back can it keep on Exchange server? Thanks!
if you're talking about "deleted item retention", that's set on the DB, or via a policy that the DB belongs to...you can set that as long as you like, but understand that your stores will be very large if you keep deleted items for too long...how long do you keep your Exchange backup tapes? can you not restore from a tape to a recovery storage group? -- Susan Conkey [MVP] "boba" wrote in message news:7F0A9D85-9AD8-40F6-8B06-08D58BEA36B8@microsoft.com... > One of our users deleted her email (in Outlook) in January which she sent > . > I tried to find on Exchange server under search by entering the dates from > 1-1-08 to 1-30-08 but it only goes back to April 1st not beyond that. > Where > is the filter or we can adjust the days limit so that we can go back to > find > an email deleted accidently. Thanks! I changed the setting on Mailbox store to 30 days. I am not sure about the backup since I am new in the company but if we do have the backup tap, how do I use the recovery storage group to recover? Can you give me the steps? Thanks for the quick response!
