SQL Server Database Engineer Needed in Seattle, WA   

We have two (2) open contract Database Engineer positions with our
client, a growing Application Service Provider in Seattle (Fremont).
Candidates should have at least five years of SQL Server design,
development and maintenance experience, the ability to multitask and
be flexible. This is a great opportunity to lend your expertise to

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Work with developers and business owners to provide database needs
and support to all Company products.
* Design, implement, and maintain database objects such as tables,
stored procedures, views, and constraints.
* Be the owner; create and maintain database design documents.
* Provide technical assistance to other teams for their database
needs.
* Ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and enhancing existing 24x7
production database systems.


EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

* 5+ years of professional experience in logical and physical database
design, development, analysis, architecture, modeling, administration
(backup, restore, etc), and maintenance.
* Experience in architecting multi-tier, distributed database
applications.
* Experience working with large datasets.
* Rock-solid SQL programming skill and SQL Server 2005 knowledge
required.
* Some MySQL experience
* Some DBA experience
* Strong RDBMS skills.
* Cross platform experience.
* Experience in ASP (Application Service Provider) business model.
* Work well in a team environment
* Good communication skills
* Ability to work on several projects at once.


ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

* Experience in Database deployment processes.
* Experience in Database Clustering.
* Object-oriented programming skills, such as Java, C++.
* Experience with the .NET framework and C# or VB.NET.
* Experience working with a version control system (cvs, vss,
subversion or similar).
* Knowledge in Linux.


EDUCATION:

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical
field.
