Monitoring Creation/Deletion of Databases
Hi,

I have posted this over in the programming newsgroup but have not had
much response. If anybody can help here (where it seems a little more
active) then that would be appreciated.
Thanks!

You posted less than 2 hours ago. Give the *volunteers*, who are willing to
do so, some time to answer your question. This is not 911 paid for by tax
dollars.

Thanks for your worthwhile reply - you could have helped someone in
that time no doubt - MS must really value you.
There really was no need for you to reply in that manner - I am well
aware that the people who respond are not being paid to do so, and I
fully appreciate any help that I receive from people; if you bother to
look at many of my previous post you will see that fact for yourself.
Maybe I have just been spoilt by the fact that I usually get a helpful
response within an hour of posting, normally from another MVP, Erland
Sommarskog.

Anyway, thank you for your valuable lesson on how to use forums and
for reminding me that people like yourself are not getting paid to
surf the forums during work time.

Re: Monitoring Creation/Deletion of Databases
Then maybe you should post when Erland is online (he is in Sweden, so his
work time is different from mine). Otherwise, have patience, so that people
other than me can help ungrateful people like you. Because it won't be
me...FWIW, I was working on a reply to you when you started tugging at shirt
sleeves and whining, hey, why is nobody helping ME? Now I have deleted it
and am going on with my day. Cheers!

Re: Monitoring Creation/Deletion of Databases
Can you please point me at the part of my post that was ungrateful?
For starters I probably should have said I was not sure whether the
programming forum was the correct place and that was why I was posting
in this forum as well. However, I have seen various people being 'told
off' for cross posting and so I thought I'd say it was because I had
not had much response - as I stated maybe I have been spoilt as
generally I get lots of help quickly when I post here.
I have plenty of patience - I just don't like people having a go at me
for no reason which is what I felt you were doing.

Anyway, FWIW( probably nothing to you Aaron), I was hoping to get
things finished today as I am not here all of next week and we are
currently moving things on to a new box which is why maybe I came
across as a little impatient. I still do not think that justified your
initial response.
Anyway, choosing not to help me is of course your perogative which you
are more than entitled to do.
Thanks for your time.

If anybody else knows how to do this any help would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks.

Thank you very much - I'm surprised I hadn't found that the amount of
searching I've done :-)
Unfortunately this still doesn't seem to trigger the email (I should
add that the explicit CREATE and DROP statements do)

Thanks for this though - I never know you do CREATE FOR ATTACH.

Cheers again.
