Hi All Is it possiable to stop a new folder from inheriting security settings from the root folder? The current setup is a default install, I saw one blerb in the help files but was not able to connect the dots in the report server. much thanks
Just change the security on the folder and it will no longer use the inherited. You can also do this for a single report as well. -- Bruce Loehle-Conger MVP SQL Server Reporting Services "darwin" wrote in message news:46C9353C-A789-4E88-9A0E-C591F752FFA5@microsoft.com... > Hi All > Is it possiable to stop a new folder from inheriting security settings > from > the root folder? hi Bruce Is it possiable to change the settings so that all new folders would have NO security inherited? I would prefer a new folder not allow anyone to see the contents until they are added. You can set the root to a set of permissions and then all the ones below (or added) will have those permissions. -- Bruce Loehle-Conger MVP SQL Server Reporting Services "darwin" wrote in message news:EF8AA2A4-24FC-46C6-ABE7-0040FFBDDCC4@microsoft.com... > hi Bruce > Is it possiable to change the settings so that all new folders would have > NO > security inherited? ok.. I got it backwards. I thought I had to add all users to the Root folder first so that they could see any subfolders that they had access to. Thanks!
