Queries about Notification Services 2005
Hi all,

I have set up a notification services using MSSQL Notification
Service 2005. The events are firing properly, and even the notification to
the corresponding subscriber is populated, but the delivery status shows
"Delivery failed". Can anyone tell me what could be the possible reasons for
this to happen and how to overcome this scenario.

Looking for a reply as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Queries about Notification Services 2005
Hi -

Are you using XSLT to transform your notification? If so an error in
the XSLT will result in a failed delivery.

What delivery channel are you using? SMTP? File? Something you
developed?

Also check that you've specified the right device in your
subscription.

Check the Application Event Log (windows event viewer), there will
likely be an event in there related to the failure.

HTH...

Re: Queries about Notification Services 2005
Hi Joe,

I am using the FileChannel as the delivery channel for my
application. After reviewing the events log in my machine, I got to know that
the delivery channel is failing to initialize. Can you please let me know
what I am supposed to do in this scenario.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Queries about Notification Services 2005
check the settings in the config files for the file channel. make sure
that the destination exists.

Also check the NTFS permissions on the folder to make sure the
instance has the right to create a file in it.
