Anybody using Cognos and have comments on it? Our shop is using SSIS, SSAS and browsing cubes with Excel 2007. But Cognos tool looks like it may be easier for our users.
We use SSIS and SQL Server for our data warehouse, but use Cognos for our cubes and reporting. Is there something specific you have question about? I've also worked in shops that use SSAS and SSRS. Cognos Reporting Studio and Analysis Studio (and Query Studio), offer a nice interface to put the Reporting/Analysis in the hands of the users. My real goal was a better tool to navigate cubes. Our users frustrations excel from using the new Excel 2007 as well. M$ reports they are not going to improve upon Proclarity but somehow performance point will come out with somethign new. I worked at a place that used Proclarity. In my opinion, Cognos Analysis Studio is much better for cube browsing and analysis. As I understand Cognos will connect to a Microsoft AS cube, although I've never tried it. "Joe H" wrote: > My real goal was a better tool to navigate cubes. Is SSRS able to use Cognos OLAP cubes as a data source? "Steve" wrote: > I worked at a place that used Proclarity.
