I'm trying to design a flow-chart with shapes that are the anchor for mouseover, drop-down text boxes. Each shape will be labeled as a step in the process and I want the drop-down text box to contain more detailed information about its respective step. My problem is I have no idea how to accomplish this task within Visio. Screentips, tooltips and custom properties either don't work after being published or don't provide enough space for the text. Any suggestions on how to get this done, including other applications (preferably freeware) that will work, are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Custom Properties can hold 64k characters, but the Custom Property dialog and window only display a single line. However, you will see multiple lines if you Save As Web, so try using Notepad to write your notes then copy and paste into a custom property. Alternatively, you can write your own data entry form or use a third party add-in.
