Displaying Shape Data
Hello,

I am manually creating a network map, I wish to display shape data to the
left of the shape. For example I wish to display IP Address, However when IP
address is Dispayed, it is displayed on two lines and think looks very
untidy. I would much prefer to have this infomation on one line

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this on one line

Re: Displaying Shape Data
Hello Ben,

Have you tried the Text Block tool (Ctrl+Shift+4), which allows you to
resize the text area of a shape? Also some shape, such as the Server shape
in the Network and Peripherals stencil have a yellow control handle (a small
diamond when the shape is selected) to enable you to reposition the text.

Hope that helps.

Best regards

John

In addition to what john says, have you considered Data Graphics?

RE: Displaying Shape Data
...and if you want the textbox to scale with the text, you can select the
shape, right click, open the shapesheet. Scroll down to the Text Transform
section. If it isn't showing, then you can right click in the shapesheet,
select one or the other of view or insert section, and click Text Transform.
Back to the shapesheet, and the TT section. In the cell for TxtWidth, enter
TEXTWIDTH(TheText). Now, short or long, the box will grow with the text.
You can also entire a maximum width after the "TheText". See the following
link: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms425580.aspx. Close the
shapesheet and type away.

Enjoy.
