I'm using the Microsoft Step by step Visio book and I'm on page 96 trying to apply a background to a practice file from the CD supplied with the book. I'm using a trial copy of Visio 2007. I can't apply a background. Is this a known bug or an undocumented feature? Many thanks, //Roger.

By default it should have "Background" in its' name, but that is not always true. The background pages appear at the right side of the page tab list at the bottom of the screen, so select the last tab and use Page Setup from the File menu to see if the page is a background page. Select the Page Properties Tab. The radio button labeled Type should indicate if it is a foreground or background page. Now to apply the background page to a foreground page. Select the foreground page and display the Page Setup/Page Properties Tab. You can apply a background page to a background page, but for now make sure the page is a foreground page. The second text block (labelled Background) has a drop down list of all the background pages in the document. (This is another way to find out if there are any background pages). From the drop down list, select the background page you want. John... Visio MVP
