hyperlinks
Hi,

On some of my web pages I have imbedded a Visio object flow chart.

to create hyperlinks to other pages on my site, or files, I have used
transparent objects overlaid on the flow chart, and have hperlinked the
objects.

It works great some of the time!

Other times, when I create such an object on one page, it appears on other
pages (during page edit mode) - when I publish or preview the page, the
hyperlinks are not there.

why are these objects repeating on several other pages throughout my website?
Is it something to do with how the pages have been created?
in some instances I have used insert duplicate page? though they repeat on
non-duplicate pages.

Also, some of my imbedded flows over run the page size; it seems that these
repeated objects appear in that space below the page boundary.

Any suggestions how I can prevent this from happening?

thanks--
MT

Re: hyperlinks
If you insert a new duplicate page, yes indeed everything on the original
page is duplicated on the new page. You must delete anything you don't want,
including your hyperlinked objects.

If you insert a page within a multipage site, and previously inserted
hyperlinks that link to a specific page in your site, you may need to edit
that hyperlink. For example if you inserted a hyperlink on your first page
to go to the 5th page on your site, and you then insert a new page between
the 1st and 5th page, the link will be pointing to the wrong page.

Anything in the scratch area will be in the scratch area regardless of which
page of your publication you are looking at. The scratch area is for the
publication, not a page.

If you have page content or design elements that are overlapping into the
scratch area, that will create problems. Sounds like maybe your chart is
overlapping and needs to be resized to fit the page. Keep all elements
on...or completely off the page and in the scratch area. Run the Design
Checker under tools and it should help you spot those elements that are
overlapping into the scratch area.
