insert duplicate page
I created a website using Publisher and got it up and running, but when I
went back to insert a duplicate page I cannot get it to open. It works fine
when I do a web page preview but when I published it to the web I get a page
cannot be found message just on that newly created page. Any ideas what I
did wrong?? and how to fix it

RE: insert duplicate page
I also just noticed that the new page is only showing up on home page
navigation bar and not on the other 10 page navigation bars. Has anyone had
this happen to them? any suggestions as to how to solve this problem and the
problem explained on the previous post?

Re: insert duplicate page
Perhaps run the Design Checker under Tools. It sounds like you may have some
design element overlapping into the scratch area.

Re: insert duplicate page
The Publisher 2002 navbar is easy to corrupt, and especially if you edit it
directly rather then through the web page options. Rather than try to
repair it, you should probably rebuild it.

Go to each page's web options dialog and uncheck the page's option to be in
the navbar so that each page gets disconnected from the navbar wizard. Go
to each page and delete the whole navbar. Go to the design gallery and pick
a navbar, the one you were using, or another one, and insert it on page 1.
That becomes your new fresh navbar wizard control. Go to each page and
check the page's option to be in the navbar, which then populates the navbar
wizard with the page. When that's done the navbar on page 1 should display
a link for each page. Copy your new navbar, go to the remaining pages and
paste it. Your done.

Re: insert duplicate page
I followed all of these steps and rebuilt the navigation bar but am still
having the same problems. The home page has "Our Sponsors" on the navigation
bar but the other pages doesn't, also when you click that link the page can't
be found. When I run a webpage preview it works fine and shows up on all
navigation bars. Very frustrating!! Any other suggestions?? Go to
www.gbfpd.com to see what I mean.

Re: insert duplicate page
That probably means you didn't upload Page1199.html.
Of course you'll see it on Preview since the file is on your machine, but if
you miss publishing it it won't be on the server.

Re: insert duplicate page
If all the navbar buttons are on each page of your Pub file, then you just
need to upload new html files to your site and overwrite the old files. If
the new page button didn't propagate through the whole Publisher document,
Insert a new Page, duplicating everything on the Our Sponsers page, but this
time be careful to tick the option to add the page to the navbar. Then
delete the old Our Sponsers page.

Re: insert duplicate page
You produce your web files from the Pub doc, and upload them the same way
that you did the first time. They should overwrite the old files. If they
don't, then delete the index.htm file and the index_files folder from the
server.
