newsletter mail merge
I need to produce 1600 newsletters on a konica biz hub using publisher 2007
running windows XP pro. I am using pitney bowes smart mailer for my mail
merge. this results in 1,600 individual jobs and the color newletter is quite
large so it takes about 5 minutes per newsletter to send it to the printer.

I would like to sent the newsletter once and have the Konica insert the mail
merge into each newletter page needing the address information. I have been
told there is a 3rd party plug in that will do that for publisher.

You actually don't need anything beyond Publisher and Command Workstation.
Assuming your Biz Hub is driven by Command Workstation, use the original
publication without the variable data fields. (Names, addresses)
From the Biz Hub's print dialog, VDP tab selected "FreeForm Master" > Create
Set up a new job without the base publication info, just the variable fields
and salutation(s).
eg; Dear <<First>>
<<address line 1>>
<<address line 2>>

Print this as a merge, and from the Biz Hubs print dialog or Command
Workstation, select VDP tab "Use FreeForm Master"
You're storing the original file on the internal server, Publisher is
sending only the variable date, the Biz Hub engine is combining the two and
only sending the static job once.

Re: newsletter mail merge
It appears the command workstation is only used with higher end copiers the
Bizhub C451 uses PageScope and I can find no refrence to the Command Work
Station, the only solution I have found is a third party sofware "PrintShop
Mail".
