Want to do in MS Pub. what I do w/Indesign:Create book from mult f
If I could use Indesign at work I would, but all that I can get my hands on
is Publisher. They have not loaded it yet. I have never worked with it, nor
seen it. I am hoping that it will have the same option as Indesign or
Quark.Xpress. I am putting a large manual together. I have many sections, all
in separate files. I want to be able to, as in Indesign, select all of those
separate files and create a book, be able to reorder, add, or delete files as
I want to , and then use one command to print all of those separate files, in
the order that I specified all at once. I am not looking to copy and paste
into one document.
Any help is appreciated, I have tried to search the net to no avail about
the capabilities of Publisher regarding this topic.
I appreciate any help!

MS Publisher cannot perform the tasks you describe.

Thanks John, I was afraid that was going to be the answer. I was hoping!

There is the following method but I don't think
it is what you are looking for and also...if you
have files that were created in one of your other
apps...they wouldn't be compatible with Publisher
anyway.

Combining Publisher Documents

I will try it, see what happens. These docs were made in Word. I assumed
they would be compatible. Not sure if true.

What version Publisher are you going to use? There are many tutorials around.
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/publisher/FX100649111033.aspx
InDesign is a $700 program, it is tough to compare features with a $150
application.

You can import Word documents into Publisher.

Vote for McCain, and get any DTP application for $3.99!

Re: Want to do in MS Pub. what I do w/Indesign:Create book from mu
Mary , Your statement is totally true and I agree with it. I have a design
background although now I am working for a company in a different capacity.
So, I could never ask them to spend that kind of money on a program that
only I would know how to use. So, I've got to work with what we've got. I
have no idea what version they have , but I will look through the tutorials
once I get it . Thanks! Carolina

I thought you were indicating that your current
files were created with Indesign or Quark.Xpress.
Have a look at the following articles:
