Resource Center not showing Assignments
Running MS Project Server and WSS 2007.

Resource Center allows selection of one or more resources, and then I can
view Resource Availability for those resources. But I cannot view Resource
Assignments for those resources! I get a blank page (i.e. no error message,
no data, just white space where the 'grid' should be).

This was working just fine until yesterday. Last night we had to reload
(re-provision?) the server - i.e. re-install everything and restore the
projects and workspaces data. After that we re-synchronized all the
workspaces and everything seems to be OK now except we can't see resource
assignment, only availability.

Note that users do see their project assignments listed in their 'My Tasks'
page, and when a project schedule is published from MS Project client app,
the users get an e-mail telling them their assignments have been updated. But
just the Resource Center shows no assignments, only availability - which in
fact does list all teh assigned tasks correctly!

This all worked just fine until we reloaded everything (which we had to do
due to some changes IT dept needed to make to their server arrangements).

Any ideas? Please?!?

Re: Resource Center not showing Assignments
Hi,

I hope you must be able to see the Project Center with all views &
gantt charts also. If not: Then you have to download the ActiveX grid
control from MS Site (available for free). The build team, view
assignments & availability options will be visible.

I am also not sure, what browser you are using. (I think it is IE as
you said everything was ok till the other day). Note that EPM 2007 do
not support browser other than Internet Explorer. Microsoft has not
tested EPM 2007 on any other browser even on Windows OS. As most of
the functionality in EPM 2007 (other than Project Center and Build
Team + Data Analysis Views) are DHTML based theoratically you should
be able to access PWA site from other browser and OS.

Do let us know if ActiveX was the problem.

Re: Resource Center not showing Assignments
Hi, Ajit.

Yes, running IE7, and both Client and Server have all latest service packs
and updates from Microsoft.

No it is not an ActiveX issue.

I experimented some more and found that if I create a new Resource Center
view I can use it to see assignments. But if I delete it, the standard
"Summary" view still shows no assignments. I even re-named and re-saved the
standard "Summary" view but it still shows no data. Also, if I create new
view (e.g. "Summary2") which works OK, then I delete the standard "Summary"
view, after that the new "Summary2" view no longer works!!

Re: Resource Center not showing Assignments
Hello,

Although I don't have an answer, I have a similar problem and wanted to
clarify your findings. Did you create a new Resource Center view as described
or a new Resource Assignments view? I have found that the blank page only
applies to 2 of my resources, but if I include either one in a multi-resource
assignment view with others that I can see assignments, the page is blank
then as well! I mention this as possible additional information for anyone
that can help in this. I can't see any difference with the resources that
bring up a blank page with those that don't. All were created in the same
way (selecting from AD).

Re: Resource Center not showing Assignments
Hi, David:

The problem as you describe it is exactly the problem I have. I found that I
can see assignments for some resources, but if any of the resources I select
is one of the "bad" ones (i.e shows blank even though they do have
assignments), then I don't see any assignments for any of the resources I
selected.
