MSP 2003 with new install Office2007
I've finally been given a new laptop. Office2007 was installed from new (ie
not an upgrade) and I have been trying without success to get MSP2003 to
work. It keeps crashing, especially when I click on a dropdown (eg resource).
On my previous laptop, I had office 2000, Project 2003 (upgrade from 2000)
and then Office2007 upgraded - and all worked fine.
Has anyone encountered this? Is there anything I can do to fix it? Seems a
bit rough to be forced to buy MSP 2007 just because Microsoft made a bit of a
hash.

RE: MSP 2003 with new install Office2007
Make sure you have all the latest hot fixes, service packs installed for both
Office2007 and MSP2003. For P2003, the latest available is SP3 which was
released mid September.

Your configuration should not be causing you any problems.

RE: MSP 2003 with new install Office2007
I have P2003 sp3 installed, and as far as i can see I have just checked that
all the KBnnnnn downloads for office2007 installed as well. Is there anywhere
else I need to look for updates?
thanks,
Sian

RE: MSP 2003 with new install Office2007
There is noplace else for updates.
What was your install for P2003? Did you start with P2000 on the new laptop
and then upgrade to P2003?

Consider an uninstall of both products, then install P2003 and get working
complete with all SPs and KBnnnn fixes. After that, install Office 2007.

One thing to try is to stop your P2003 update at SP2, that was the current
configuration at the time Office 2007 was released. Install 2007 and then
SP3 from there.
