How do I enter Actual Costs?
I thought i could just insert the column and put it in there but it won't let
me. I went to the cost table and tried there and it won't let me do that
either.

Re: How do I enter Actual Costs?
Meg,

If you have costs on a task as a result of entering a fixed cost figure or
arising from an assigned resource with a cost rate of more than $0.00
Microsoft Project will calculate actual cost for you as you update progress
on the task. By default costs are accrued on a pro-rata basis. So if you
have a task with a $50 fixed cost and a total cost of $100 due to there
being resource costs of $50 and the task is marked as being 50% complete the
actual and remaining cost values will be calculated as being $50.

Once a task is complete you can edit the actual cost figure at the task
level to be whatever you want.

In Tools, Options, Calculation, check OUT "Actual Costs are always
calculated by Microsoft Project"
