I thought i could just insert the column and put it in there but it won't let me. I went to the cost table and tried there and it won't let me do that either.
Meg, If you have costs on a task as a result of entering a fixed cost figure or arising from an assigned resource with a cost rate of more than $0.00 Microsoft Project will calculate actual cost for you as you update progress on the task. By default costs are accrued on a pro-rata basis. So if you have a task with a $50 fixed cost and a total cost of $100 due to there being resource costs of $50 and the task is marked as being 50% complete the actual and remaining cost values will be calculated as being $50. Once a task is complete you can edit the actual cost figure at the task level to be whatever you want. -- Dominic Moss Projectability - Helping People achieve more with Microsoft Project www.projectability.co.uk "Meg" wrote in message news:851167B3-4E70-4194-939C-03ECDE02A0C1@microsoft.com... >I thought i could just insert the column and put it in there but it won't >let > me.
