QUERY REGARDING MICROSOFT PROJECT PLAN
Hello,
I am using MPP for project tracking.
I need the planned and actual dates to appear for each task.
But when I change the actual date of a particular task, the planned date
(i.e. "start" column) also changes, even for the baselined projects.
I want the start and finish dates to be as they were when i baselined the
project even if the i change the actual dates.
Please help me out.

Re: QUERY REGARDING MICROSOFT PROJECT PLAN
Hi,

The baseline dates don't change; show them
For Project, reality is worth more than an old plan... so whan there are
actuals Start and Finish are adapted.
This is ABSOLUTELY necessary since the planning opf linked tasks must be
adapted to reality.

RE: QUERY REGARDING MICROSOFT PROJECT PLAN
Hello Charu,

You can insert the columns "Baseline Start" and "Baseline Finish". These
will not change, and will show you the planned start and finish dates as of
when the project was baselined. The reason for the baseline is to take a
snapshot of the planned project before any updates or tracking has commenced.
You can then compare the original plan with the actual progress allowing you
to adjust the workflow to get back on track, and to use as a lookback tool.
