Potential Producer Replacement
Hello,

I know folks on this board have been interested in a potential
Producer replacement for some time now. Microsoft's apparent desire
to no longer update or support Producer, plus some limitation with
recent browser, MS Office, and Vista incompatibilities certainly make
an alternative necessary.

I've posted here before about my new rich media presentation tool,
Presio, and I've gotten great feedback from the folks in this forum.
I appreciate it. I've been doing my best to create an easy to use
tool for creating rich media presentations. While not exactly like
Producer, it does accomplish very similar results. Several folks had
asked if Presio could incorporate a Producer import or migration
tool.

Well, I'm pleased to announce that the latest release of Presio now
includes the "Microsoft Producer Import Wizard". I've taken a very
simple, but I believe useful approach with this "wizard".
Essentially, if you have 2 files - the source PowerPoint used in your
Producer project, and a published Windows Media file (typically named
0MM0.wmv) - that's all you need to import into Presio.

Once imported you can take advantage of Presio's features including
the ability to publish to Flash, Quicktime or Video Podcast (mp4)
formats.

I've put together a brief screencast that demonstrates the Import
Tool:

You can also read a bit more about it and see a screen shot on my
blog:

Also, you can download the latest version of Presio here:

Thanks.
