I have a user that is working on a XP Professional machine with Office 2003. He needs to upgrade to Ofiice 2007. When I try and upgrade to 2007 I get an error saying that Office needs a newer version of Windows. All the other users I upgraded to have XP Home and the upgrades went fine. I have loaded all Microsoft updates on the XP Pro machine. How can I upgrade to Office 2007 and bypass this bogus error message?

If the machine you are attempting to upgrade does not have at least XP SP2 installed the error message is NOT bogus. You need SP2 or later for XP to install Office '07.
