Office Professional Upgrade
I had old version of Office on XP Computer that died. I have the disk and
25-digit code for that software. I bought new Vista 64 bit PLUS an Upgrade
version of Office Professional 2007 software. Do I need to load the XP
Office software on the Vista system before upgrading, or do I just need the
code? Will the XP version work on the VISTA system? The new VISTA machine
came with a 60 dya trail of Office. Should I uninstall this before I install
the new version?

Uninstall the trial first, yes.

Normally you do not need to load a previous program onto a system to
upgrade. What will happen is when you start the installation of Office '07
upgrade it will search the computer for a upgrade qualifier already
installed. When it doesn't find one it will ask where it can find one.
Take out the '07 installation CD and put in the Office XP CD. Let it find
the XP CD and then once the computer is satisfied it will ask for the Office
'07 installation CD again. It's normally as simple as that.
