How do I get Word to e-mail a document through Microsoft Mail?   

What in hell did I spend all this money on a new computer with Windows Vista 
when
Word  won't perform the simplest function? Microsoft Works will e-mail a 
file, but most of my recipients can't open it.  Does this make sense to 
anyone?
