Editing contacts (created using custom form in Outlook) from OWA
Hi,

I have a mailbox on Exchange 2007. I use Outlook 2003 client. I have
created
a custom contact form in Outlook and published it to my contacts
folder. I
then created some contacts in Outlook using the custom contact form.
When I
tried to use Outlook Web Access (OWA) to open the contacts that I had
created using the
custom contact form, the contacts were shown as read-only. Is this
the
expected behavior?

What do we need to do to see the contact editable in OWA? How is the
behavior w.r.t. Exchange 2003?

Thanks

RE: Editing contacts (created using custom form in Outlook) from OWA
It's not exactly expected behavior: You should be able to edit the contacts
using the normal OWA interface. You should not, however, expect to see your
custom form in OWA. Custom Outlook forms work with desktop Outlook only, not
with OWA.

I've cross-posted this reply to the microsoft.public.exchange.clients
newsgroup in hopes that someone there can shed light on your OWA issue. You
might want to add information on what folder these contacts are stored in.

Re: Editing contacts (created using custom form in Outlook) from OWA
The question here is regarding editing Contacts from OWA (Exchange
2007) that were created using custom form in Outlook 2003. When such
contacts are opened in OWA (Exchange 2007), they appear read-only.
Where as with OWA (Exchange 2003), the contacts are opened in the
default Contact form and are editable.

The contacts were stored in the Mailbox-Contact folder which are
accessible through OWA as well and the custom contact form was
published in "Personal Folders Library".

Let me know if more information is required.

Thanks.
