Publishing to Website - Receiving Error Message
I am receiving the following general error message when trying to publish a
change to a website which I maintain just a class schedule for only. Is this
message related at all to the phasing out of Front Page? The "webmaster" of
the site is away for 2 weeks and unforunately I do not have enough Front Page
knowledge or understanding to figure this message out.
"Unable to connect to "website"
"The webserver does not seem to have SharePoint Services installed"

the message then goes on to list about 4 or 5 reasons as to why it may not
be working, most related to the server. I am "publishing" in the same manner
that I always have.

Re: Publishing to Website - Receiving Error Message
Please try disabling it, or at a minimum, disable the Worm Protection
function, and see if it helps.

...also, if it's a suite that has a firewall, try allowing FP in it, or
disabling the firewall.

Re: Publishing to Website - Receiving Error Message
I disabled Norton Virus (did not reboot, should I?) and also verified that
the Windows Firewall was disabled. Still no luck.
