Students are set up as Administrators of Default Web Sites. When they try to check out files after enabling source control, they get a lock icon instead of a red check mark on the file. We are using FrontPage 2002 SP3, FPSE 2002, IIS 5.1, SharePoint (Team Services I think--I don't know how to find the version), IE 7, Windows XP SP2. The other Office programs are Office 2003. The students must log on to a domain, but they are administrators on the default web site. What needs to be changed to allow them to check out files? This did not work last year when I was using IE6 either. I did find kb823744 that addresses this issue in IE6 and a download q324893. I think I installed the download last year, but still had trouble. I tried to install the download this year but it says I need IE6 SP1.
