my website was working fine until i tried fixing the navigation link menu.

correct on FP.  the website did not display the menus.   I tried to fix the 
problem on FP, but now I can not even see the pages.  When I select the page

the pages and therefore can not edit my pages.  I also cannot select a page 
to publish.

When I select the File from the menu, the following items are greyed out. 
New, Save, Save As, Publish site, Import or print.

I would assume that the properties have changed, but I'm not sure what I 
need to change.

It sounds like you are not working with the web site opened first.
Open FP
File | Open Site
then browse to the Site you created...you did create a web SITE 
first...right? If not, you are just working with a "loose" page.

Hi Rob,

Yes I have the website open. It's the same site that originally worked fine, 
but now I can only see it in the folder listing.  When I try and double click 
on a page or use the View Page.  Nothing happens.  I can only see the 
Navigations page and the Web Site page that shows me what is on my PC and on 
the Remote server.  I can publish the whole website, but FP does not allow me 
to publish selected pages. Nor can I edit any pages.   I even tried to close 
the site and open a New page.  I do not have the option to create a New Page, 
the option is greyed out.

Can you help?  Thanks

btw.  I have been working with this site for nearly a year, and it has been 
fine.  It just now started to give me problems.  The Theme doesn't work 
either, I just get a blank white background.  I believe I may have stuffed 
something when I was cleaning the site.  But I can not even start a new site

are you sure you are publishing to taliasuh subweb correctly?...the theme 
you are using is not what's up on the server...the server shows "sky" but 
your not using that. since the fpse are not available on your web maybe 
you're not uploading all the files that you should be.

also there's about 100 <center></center> tags that are completely 
empty...not needed.

The problem is that I can publish it properly.  It used to work about a week 
ago, but now what I publish doesn't seem to update to the server correctly.  
The file seems to be updated " date and size" but when I look at the page via 
the web it looks wrong.  But my real problem at the moment is that I cann't 
even view the pages in FP anymore to check and update them.  

Is there somekind of properties that I should be looking for in FP to check 
why I can not see any pages in FP.  I don't understand why I can't see 
anything in FP except the Web Site TAB that lets me look at the folder list 
on my PC and the Remote Server, I can also click on the bottom of that tab 
and see the Navigation and other options, but nothing else.

BTW,  I did change the theme, it's not SKY, i think it was called motion or 
something. I can't check the page setting.

It "modular" theme.

You have two nearly identical subwebs taliasuh and talz, is that 
intentional?

Are you using Frontpad /Frontpage Express? Doesn't look like Frontpage.

How are you publishing the web from your local machine to the server?

Trying to figure out what you're doing, you have several subwebs and no 
index page in the root so everything is browsable.

Hi Rob,

The sad thing is that I am using Frontpage 2003. I use FP Publishing via 
Publish Site.
I used to be able to right click the file and then publish selected file, 
but now it is greyed out. I published it from my Local machine to the website.

It used to work before, but for some reason it is not working anymore.

The reason I have more than one site is because I tried to create another 
site to see if there was a problem with the original one. 


I don't have a main website in the www.algpromotions.com, but only have sub 
websites.  I also spoke to my website provider and they reloaded the 
Frontpage extensions, that seem to have fixed the menus and theme.  So the 
website is working.  But I am still having problems with Frontpage and 
editing the pages.
I also checked on another PC and they can see the website.  I'm not sure why 
you can't see the site.

Can you tell me whether you still can not see the pages.  I still need to 
fix the Work Experience pg as it doesn't have the menus, but that will have 
to wait until I/we can get Frontpage to work properly.

Got any ideas?

BTW.  I am only working on www.taliasuh.algpromotions.com  the other websites 
are going to be deleted.

I can see the site.

If it were my site I would delete all the subwebs and publish your 
daughter's site directly to www.algpromotions.com  not the subweb. Right now 
if you have no index or default page on algpromotions.com so everything in 
that folder is browsable.

You are probably having your problems not seeing the site in FP because you 
have to open the subwebs from within the main web and then publish to the 
subweb from that second instance of FP that opens when you open a subweb. It 
can get confusing!
