Frontpage error notice
Hi,
When I open my web page up in Frontpage 2003 (I was previously using an
older version, 2000 I think), an error notice comes up saying:
Couldn’t open file:

C:\Users\Liz\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet
Files\FrontpageTempDir\3e87886f.htm.

Can anyone tell me what this means and how I can fix my problem? Many thanks.

Re: Frontpage error notice
Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download FP Cleaner ( with Expression Web Designer and
SharePoint Designer support )
Download links are at the bottom of the page.
Run the functions that clear:
The Hidden Temporary files.
The Hidden Cache (*.web) files.

See if it helps.

Re: Frontpage error notice
Many thanks Steve, that seems to have done the trick.

Much appreciated.

Best regards.

Re: Frontpage error notice
Hi Steve - I have a question related to the FrontPageTempDir file location.
Every time I save a page in Front Page it takes a least a minute, sometimes
longer, to save. I notice that the file is saving in my local files ...
Temporary Internet Files\FrontpageTempDir\ ... It is excrutiating waiting
for these files to save! I use Front Page 2003. Will the FP Cleaner help
solve this problem too? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
 Carol

Re: Frontpage error notice
It should, it cleans out that folder.

You should also clear your temporary internet and history files from time to time.
