Can't Open Attachment - Wav File
I am running Outlook 2003 on XP Pro. For some reason, in the past two weeks,
everytime that I try to open or save "wav" files that I get as attachments in
emails, I get the error:

Can't create file: (file name). Right-click the folder you want to create
the file in, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu to check your
permissions for the folder.

There is a support artice on this for Outlook 2000, but nothing about this
version of Outlook. Either way, the support listed for Outlook 2000 doesn't
work.

Hi,
To resolve this problem, either move your Temp folder to a volume that
supports long file names or, if your issue is caused by repeatedly opening
the same file, delete the sequence of files from your Temp folder, and
attempt to open the file attachment again

It's likely a problem with the Outlook Secure Temp Folder. Google Groups is
your friend. See this:

Re: Can't Open Attachment - Wav File
I just want to add that this works for Outlook 2007 as well. If you open
100 attachments of the same name before your temporary internet files gets
cleared, you will run into this exact problem. Going to this location:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.Outlook\IF4R16MF

And deleting the files of the name of the attachment you are trying to open
will do the trick.

Man! You'd think after 7+ years the Office people would learn to enumerate
past 100! Or at the VERY least have the error message tell you what you can
do to solve the problem. Am I the only sane person in this world?? I Wish
someone would come up with cleaner smarter better BUSINESS software.
