Sorry I don't have the exact error number but we are getting an error 'can not lock' or 'too many locks' when we try to syncronize between a file on drive C: and a file on drive P:. If I move both files to drive C: it works fine. Similiar problem deleting blocks of records. If the file is on drive P:, It won't delete more than 400 or so records at one time. If I move the file to drive C:, no problem. The Network is Novell with the latest version of their client.

I would never store any Jet MDB on a Novell server, as it has historically been problematic. There are some relatively old articles about the problem listed here: http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruption/novell.htm I don't do apps with Novell servers precisely because of all the problems involved. It's enough work to keep MDBs running without problems on pure Windows networks, so I'm not about to add more risk. Same goes for Linux/Samba. -- David W.
