Problem for changing table link
I am using vista, SQL server2005 and Access2007. I copied an Access database
from my co-worker's computer which works very well there. But on my computer,
when I try to change the table link (select all then check "Always prompt for
new location then click OK), it keep showing me "ODBC call failed". Does
anyone know the reason and have some solutions. Any help would be
appreciate!!!

Re: Problem for changing table link
Hi,
if you have tables on SQL Server database - then make sure that you also
installed database with tables, and made it running, also you need to create
a DSN entry in Control Panel - administrative tools-ODBC

Re: Problem for changing table link
Hi Alex,

Thank you for your reply. Actually, I did that. At the begining this Access
Database worked very well. Then this problem happened some times, but getting
worse and worse. Now the error message come out every time I check "Always
prompt
for new location". Any idea? Thanks

Di

Re: Problem for changing table link
Hi,
well, difficult to say, I would first check that SQL server is running, then
test in ODBC connections (there is a Test button). If test is ok - then
access should be able to connect
